Bio-Ron Roskowske
Ron Roskowske has been a professional musician and music educator for over forty plus years. Ron first started with the Macks Creek Band in the late 1970’s, playing clubs and concerts throughout the Midwest and opening shows for acts such as Pure Prairie League, The Outlaws, Gregg Allman, Black Oak Arkansas, and Grinderswitch. After recording an album, the group disbanded in the early 1980’s. He returned to college, studying jazz guitar and composition at Webster University in St. Louis under Steve Schenkel, Peter Mayer and Bob Chamberlain. He started a career in Music Education teaching guitar privately. He then started teaching band and choral music in the Archdiocese of St. Louis at John F. Kennedy High School, Incarnate Word Academy, and St. Pius X High School where he retired in 2021.
Ron holds a BM in Composition and theory from Webster University and a MM in Music Education from Boston University. He still teaches guitar privately at several locations in the St. Louis area, and performs with Kingdom Brothers, a five piece blues band around St. Louis. They have recorded three albums, the latest being “Signs of the Times” which was recorded in 2021.
Ron's latest project is Blues in the Schools, which he has been collaborating with blues musician Big George Brock Jr. for the last few years. An educational and performance program for primary and high schools, Ron and George tell the story of the blues through performance, stories and interactive activities with students.
